This also opened me out to some interesting philosophers, but I went on to read the ones I gravitated towards in full, Marx, Marcuse, Wittgenstein, Heidegger (with serious caveats). So it has gotta go. And I’m not too keen on the ‘men’ of ideas bit either.

July 3, 2013I liked Ocean of Sound but found this irritating and pretentious. Toop is a good writer, but the hit I got from him was Ocean of Sound and the CD that came with it, which opened me out to all kinds of things. And that came from Halifax library, and all libraries are now under threat. Time to think on, activate the nous, the ingenium, the wit.

But for disaccumulation purposes, Made of Stone, Elephant Stone and She Bangs the Drums went, in mint condition. After all, what on earth were the Stone Roses going on about?
